The Gold Standard: Chloe Kim, Snowboarding

Meet Chloe Kim, the 17-year-old snowboarder who might just become America’s sweetheart in PyeongChang

February 06, 2018

The first thing you need to know about Chloe Kim? She won’t turn 18 until a few months after the Winter Olympics.
The second thing you need to know? There’s a pretty good chance she’s about to become one of the most popular female snowboarders in history. That’s because, when it comes to the halfpipe, there may not be anyone better in the sport. (Editor's note: She's famous now.)
Kim is the first woman to nail back-to-back 1080s in competition. She would have been a medal contender in the 2014 Sochi games, except she was too young to compete.
But now, this Team Toyota athlete and four-time X Games gold medal winner is ready to elevate her game to the sport’s biggest stage. All while wielding a fun-loving personality that is sure to endear her to Americans.
We sat down with her recently to ask about the pressure of her age, her most embarrassing experience and a whole lot more.
So, to watch The Gold Standard: Chloe Kim, click here.
And be sure to catch Chloe go for gold in the Women’s Halfpipe on Feb. 12 and 13.
