TSSC collaborates with Meals on Wheels program to save money, trim waste and feed more people

Zella Tyson had quite the math problem.

The CEO of Collin County’s Meals on Wheels program had an ever-increasing list of mouths to feed. And a shrinking budget to get it done. 

Luckily for her, Hitomi Scott and Scott Dickson had a solution. The Toyota Production System Support Center (TSSC) team members spent time with the group to find inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.

The results?

Money saved. Less food wasted. Quicker cooks in the kitchen. And fewer people going hungry.
