Nied to Know: HQ Check Road

Taking a spin on one of the coolest features of our new North American Headquarters

October 24, 2017

When Toyota built its new North American headquarters campus in Plano, you knew there were going to be a few cool features. So, once we heard about the Check Road – a track for testing vehicle quality – we had to “check” it out. (Puns are fun!)
The Check Road is a driving oval with a loop a little more than half a mile. It’s got different types of road – mostly asphalt, but also a rope road and Belgian block. On the straightaway, it’s got a 60-mile per hour speed limit, but on the specialty surfaces, drivers are limited to 15 miles per hour. Oh, and it also has a giant Skid Pad that’s, between you and me, perfect for doing donuts.
So, with several stages of awesome, we just had to grab a camera and experience on of the coolest parts of campus.
