Looking for a new take on an iconic shape? This advanced plug-in hybrid could be the shape of cars to come. It could also give Gen Y another reason to buy; 57 percent of respondents to a recent survey prefer hybrid cars.
The NS4 was conceived after Toyota challenged its engineers to design a new mid-sized concept for potential global market introduction by 2015. They began with styling, modifying the triangular lines to give the car a sleeker look.

A floating lower spoiler and wing-like daytime running lights embrace a trapezoid grille, and solar panels pierce the roof.
Inside, a Human-Machine Interface is built around a multi-touch screen with the look and feel of a smartphone. In addition to directing air conditioning, audio, battery-charge and navigation functions, the interface system can even learn driver preferences and habits.
The NS4 also takes a visionary approach to visibility.

Conventional rear-view mirrors have been replaced with cameras that provide the driver with a panoramic view displayed on a screen above the navigation system.
